Illinois State Police shut down the Edens Expressway after an early morning crash north of Touhy Avenue where one person was reported dead and another injured.
About 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, Illinois State troopers responded at a rollover crash involving a semi-trailer on I-94 southbound of North Touhy Avenue, ISP said.
Preliminary information indicates the semi-truck overturned and caught fire. One person involved in the crash was taken tffered life-threatening injuries and was pronjounced dead.
All southbound lanes were shut down shortly before 4 a.m. and will remain closed while troopers investigate.
