One person was killed and four were hurt, including two children, after a fire tore through a home in South Shore early Saturday.
The blaze broke out at around 3 a.m. in the third floor of an apartment building on the 2400 block of East 78th Street, according to a Chicago Fire Department spokesperson.
The two children were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition. One adult was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, and another was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in fair condition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, CFD said.
