Two teenage boys were wounded and a third person died in a shooting in the West Elsdon neighborhood on the Far Southwest Side Monday afternoon, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Police said they found a 16-year-old boy with gunshot wounds in the buttocks and abdomen and a 15-year-old boy with multiple gunshot wounds to the legs on the 5300 block of South Pulaski Road just before 4 p.m.
The 16-year-old was taken in critical condition to Christ Hospital while the 15-year-old was taken in fair condition to Stroger Hospital, police said. A third male victim, whose age wasn’t known, went to Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso and later died, police said.
Police said no one was in custody and area detectives were investigating the shooting.
