A 10-year-old was killed and a woman was seriously injured after an apparent domestic violence incident in Lincoln Square Wednesday morning, an alderman said.

Ald. Andre Vasquez, 40th, issued a public safety announcement after the incident on the 5900 block of North Ravenswood Avenue. The incident, which happened around 8 a.m., “fatally wounded a 10-year-old child and seriously injured a woman,” the announcement said.

Chicago police have identified a person of interest, according to Vasquez.

“Our office is in touch with the 20th District and will share updates as we receive them,” Vasquez said.

Chicago police declined to comment.
