17-year-old boy seriously wounded while walking late Saturday morning on South Side

A 17-year-old boy was seriously wounded while walking late Saturday morning in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m., the teenage boy was walking in the 8100 block of South Princeton Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, police said. He was taken in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the lower back to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
