19-year-old man killed in car crash in Archer Heights

A 19-year-old man was fatally wounded in a car crash at an intersection in the Archer Heights neighborhood early Saturday morning, Chicago police said.

He was driving a black sedan headed southbound in the 4300 block of S Pulaski Road, which at just before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday collided with a silver SUV traveling northbound, according to police.

The teen was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital with severe trauma from the accident, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the SUV, a 24-year-old man, was treated for a broken arm at Saint Anthony Hospital, where he was in fair condition.

CPD’s Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the incident.
