$2.5M Lakeview home listed by former Cubs player Kyle Hendricks goes under contract

Former Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks and his wife, Emma, placed their six-bedroom house in Lakeview for sale on April 3 for $2.55 million, and the home already has gone under contract.

Hendricks, who helped the team win a World Series in 2016, struggled last year and became a free agent at the end of the 2024 season. He now pitches for the Los Angeles Angels.

In 2023, Elite Street reported that Hendricks had paid $2.18 million in 2017 for his house in Lakeview. Hendricks had used an opaque ownership vehicle, EK Holdings LLC, to buy the home from its builder.

Built in 2015, the brick house has 5-1/2 bathrooms, two fireplaces, custom millwork, a primary bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and a bathroom with an oversized steam shower, a rain shower head, heated floors, a custom vanity with double sinks and a Victoria and Albert freestanding soaking tub. Other features include a lower level with a recreation room with a wet bar, a walk-in temperature-controlled wine cellar, a penthouse level with a large family room and a wet bar, and a kitchen with a 48-inch Wolf range, a Wolf microwave drawer, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, an Asko dishwasher and a walk-in pantry.

The first floor also has a breakfast area with a built-in bench and a butler’s pantry with a sink and a Sub-Zero wine refrigerator.

Outdoor features include front and rear roof decks with composite decking and built-in planters.

Listing agent Nancy Tassone declined to comment on Hendricks’ listing. The home went under contract on April 6, just three days after it was listed.

The house had a $46,418 property tax bill in the 2023  tax year.
