2 teenage boys wounded overnight in separate shootings on South Side, police say

Two teenage boys were both seriously wounded Wednesday night in separate shootings on Chicago’s South Side, police said.

The latest of those shootings happened about 11:45 p.m. in the Roseland neighborhood. Chicago police said a 17-year-old boy was wounded in the 10000 block of South Perry Avenue and was taken to Roseland Community Hospital where he was listed in fair condition.

Shortly before 10:45 p.m., police responded to a call of a person shot in the 200 block of West 87th Street, and found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken in serious condition to Comer Children’s Hospital.

No on was in custody for either shootings, and detectives were investigating.
