Two women are dead following a car collision on the Northwest Side early Sunday morning.
A red sedan driven by a 29-year-old man struck a black SUV occupied by three women during what appeared to be an attempted turn on the 8700 block of West Irving Park Road at about 12:16 a.m., according to Chicago police.
Two of the women, 30 and 56, were pronounced dead upon arrival at area hospitals. The third woman, 23, and the driver of the red sedan were both listed in fair condition at Lutheran General Hospital.
A gray sedan may have also been struck by the red sedan, according to police. But the 22-year-old driver of that vehicle was not injured and refused emergency medical services.
There were no immediate citations as Area Five detectives continued investigating the crash Sunday.
