2 women wounded overnight in shooting in Kenwood neighborhood

Two 34-year-old women were wounded early Friday morning in a shooting on the South Side in the Kenwood neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 6:45 a.m., the women were standing near the street in the 900 block of East 45th Street when a dark-colored vehicle approached and two males exited and opened fire in the women’s direction, police said.

One of the victims was suffered two wounds to the shoulder, and the second woman was hit in the flank, Both women were taken to U Chicago Medicine where they were listed in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody for the double shooting and detectives were investigating.
