A man was pronounced dead and a woman was left in critical condition late Monday afternoon in a double shooting in the Longwood Manor neighborhood.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the victims were inside a vehicle in the 9600 block of South Green Street when they were approached by two gunmen who opened fire, Chicago police said.
The man, 18, was struck multiple times to the body and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead. The woman suffered a wound to the head and was taken to the same hospital and listed in critical condition, police said.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
