Officers responded to a call of someone in the street Tuesday night in the Andersonville neighborhood and discovered two men wounded, one fatally, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 9:15 p.m., officers called out to a person in the street in the 5400 block of North Ashland Avenue and found a 26-yer-old man with gunshot wounds to the neck and shoulder. The man told police he was wounded while he was inside his car in an alley, police said. When they located the car, officers discovered a 21-year-old man who was unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.
That victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the first victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was listed in critical condition, police said. As of Wednesday morning the victim had yet to be identified.
No one was in custody for the shootings and detectives were investigating.
