The U-46 school board Monday night approved a new four-year contract with the Elgin Teachers Association that calls for pay hikes and allows for an extended school day. The Park District of La Grange has been awarded a $600,000 state grant that will be used for enhancements to Waiola Park.According to a news release, the grant is from the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) program, as part of the state’s initiative to support local communities in improving and expanding their recreational spaces.
