A woman was pronounced dead, and a man was left in critical condition during a shooting Thursday night in the North Lawndale neighborhood, Chicago police said. Around 10 p.m., the victims were standing in the gangway of an apartment building in the 3400 block of West Douglas Boulevard when shots rang out striking both. An unidentified woman was struck to the head, and was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
