Griffith resident Jeff Bridges may have lived by the name of a famous actor, but he was renowned in his own right to the people who frequented Bridges Scoreboard, 121 N. Griffith Blvd., over the years. Jeff Bridges, who died suddenly in his sleep Monday, co-owned the popular sports bar with his brother Scott Bridges.

Winnetka Golf Club reopens after 18 months of construction, growth
The 18-hole Winnetka Golf Club (WGC) officially launched on Monday, Aug. 12 with a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting in partnership with KemperSports. The Winnetka Park District facility, managed by KemperSports, had been closed for renovations to include stormwater management in the course’s design. The golf course has existed since 1917.
