Police pursuing ‘armed and dangerous’ man in unincorporated Barrington
Barrington School District 220 has gone into a lockdown after report of Lake County sheriff’s being in pursuit of an armed man, according to information from district officials and the county sheriff’s social media page. “The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and multiple law enforcement are searching for a possible armed subject watned in connection with a Chicago homicide,” reads a post on the sheriff’s Facebook page. Northwest Indiana casinos report a dip in revenue for July
Northwest Indiana’s three casinos reported revenues of $72 million in July, down about 9.6% from the approximately $79.7 million reported for the same month last year, according to the Indiana Gaming Commission’s monthly gaming report. Hard Rock Northern Indiana remained a bright spot for earnings with about $37.6 million reported for July, an increase over July 2023’s reported $36.9 million, according to the report.
