Victim left in critical condition overnight after being stabbed on West Side
An unidentified male victim was left in critical condition overnight after being stabbed in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said. About 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, the victim was walking in the 300 block of South Homan Avenue when he was approached by three people who pulled out a sharp object and stabbed him, police said. The victim suffered lacerations to the chest and shoulder, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The suspects fled north from the scene on foot. No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.

Chicago police officers responding to a call of a burglary overnight in the Archer Heights neighborhood and saw several burglars take an ATM before fleeing in a white SUV. Shortly after 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, officers saw five burglars exit a white truck and break the front glass door of a business in the 4500 block of South Archer Avenue. Once gaining entry the burglars took an ATM machine and fled in a white SUV, police said. No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.

A driver of a Chevy Equinox was pronounced dead overnight after striking a pole in the South Chicago neighborhood. Chicago police said. Shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday, the victim was driving in the 8600 block of South Commercial Avenue when he struck a pole, police said. He was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead. Detectives were investigating.
