An October 2021 wedding in Skokie turned tragic when a support beam from a chuppah collapsed on the groom’s mother, permanently causing ear and spine damage, according to a lawsuit filed in the Cook County Courthouse. The wedding’s venue and caterer recently approved settling for $2.3 million to dismiss lawsuit, according to a spokesperson familiar with the matter.
