After chuppah falls on, injures groom’s mom during wedding in Skokie, defendants pay $2.3 million

An October 2021 wedding in Skokie turned tragic when a support beam from a chuppah collapsed on the groom’s mother, permanently causing ear and spine damage, according to a lawsuit filed in the Cook County Courthouse. The wedding’s venue and caterer recently approved settling for $2.3 million to dismiss lawsuit, according to a spokesperson familiar with the matter. Additional early voting sites to open in the area starting Monday

While early voting started at some locations in suburban Cook County earlier this month, that will be expanded next week to include more polling sites – including right at Village Hall in Niles and at Park Ridge City Hall.
