The death of a 64-year-old man who was struck by an SUV while riding a bike in the Lower West Side was ruled an accident Saturday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. A Jeep SUV struck the still-unidentified bicyclist in the 1900 block of South Union Avenue on Oct. 27 around 4:14 a.m., Chicago police said. The Jeep’s driver fled the scene. The unresponsive bicyclist was transported to Stroger Hospital with a head injury, police said. He died there Wednesday evening.
