Man, 59, fatally wounded in shooting Monday evening in Englewood

A 59-year-old man was fatally wounded Monday evening in a shooting in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said. About 6:20 p.m., the victim was near an alley in the 6400 block of South Parnell Avenue when he was struck by gunfire to the arm and the ear. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.  

Man pronounced dead after being discovered shot Monday night inside apartment in Woodlawn

A 30-year-old man was pronounced dead after he was discovered wounded inside of a 2nd floor apartment Monday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood, Chicago police said. Shortly before 10 p.m., an acquaintance of the victim discovered him with gunshot wounds to the head and chest in an apartment in the 6100 block of South King Drive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No one was in custody for the fatal shooting and police were investigating.
