A 37-year-old woman was taken into custody after shooting a younger woman in the legs during a fight overnight in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago police said. About 1 a.m. Friday, two women were arguing on the sidewalk in the 7000 block of South Eberhart Avenue when the argument became physical, police said. One of the woman, shot the other, who was younger once in the right leg and twice to the left, police said. Teenage boy fatally wounded overnight in Garfield Park neighborhood
A 17-year-old boy was gunned down early Friday morning on the West Side in the Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said. Shortly after 2:15 a.m., the boy was standing on the street in the 2800 block of West Polk Street when a black vehicle pulled alongside and someone opened fire, striking the teenage boy multiple times to the body, police said. The boy was taken to the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. No one was in custody for the fatal attack and detectives were investigating.
