D203 board signs off on new support professionals contract with annual raises through 2027

The Naperville District 203 School Board Monday approved a new three-year contract with the Naperville Education Support Professionals Association, which had been working on an expired contract since summer. Known as NESPA, the union represents 626 education support professionals districtwide, including secretarial and clerical employees, health technicians, receptionists, registrars, document services support, paraprofessionals, auditorium managers, campus supervisors, technology support associates and media specialists. Filipino Catholics celebrate with Simbang Gabi leading up to Christmas

Simbáng Gabi, a Filipino Christmas tradition, is being celebrated in the Catholic community through Monday, Dec. 23 with each day having a lesson and theme. In Skokie, daily masses are being celebrated at Saints Peter and Lambert Parish. The 4 p.m. first novena mass on Sunday, Dec. 15 packed the pews, according to the Skokie church. “We have a big number of people from the Filipino tradition here,” said Rev. Anthony Castello.
