Case upgraded to murder after beating victim dies
A Gary man’s charges were upgraded earlier this week after a man beat on Christmas Day later died. Larry Buchanan, Jr., 42, was charged Dec. 30 with murder, aggravated battery, battery resulting in serious bodily injury and intimidation. Darryl Bradley, 55, died Dec. 27, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

A Romeoville man was charged Friday in connection with three robberies that happened in September on Chicago’s Southwest side, Chicago police said. Giotono Solis Evans, 19, was charged with three counts of robbery with a firearm.
