25-year-old man, 2 clerks wounded Tuesday night in shooting at gas station on Southwest Side, cops say

A 25-year-old man was chased by at least two people inside a gas station Tuesday night where they opened fire wounding him and two gas station employees, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 10 p.m., the victim was being pursued by four people in the 3400 block of South California Avenue in the McKinley Park neighborhood when two of them pulled out a firearm and fired shots. The victim  ran into a gas station where one of the gunmen followed him inside and continued shooting before fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and both legs, and was taken by paramedics to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Two gas station clerks also were wounded and were taken to the same hospital, police said. . One employee, 26, suffered a gunshot wound to the mouth and was listed in critical condition. The other clerk, 25, was shot to the back and was listed in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
