A 14-year-old and two others were injured in an exchange of gunfire in Gage Park Thursday night, police said.
The shooting happened at around 9:07 p.m. on the 3200 block of West 55th Street. Police said preliminary information suggests that the boy and a 39-year-old man were exchanging gunfire with a 27-year-old man.
The 27-year-old man told officers he was shot at by someone traveling in a blue van, according to police.
The 14-year-old was struck in the torso and shoulder and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The 39-year-old was shot in the wrist and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he is listed in fair condition.
The other man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, police said.
