Two men and a teenager were killed in separate shootings across Chicago overnight.
Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, a 27-year-old man was standing outside in the 1300 block of West Morse Avenue, in Rogers Park. He was shot in the lower back by someone who was traveling in a black SUV. The victim was taken to Ascension St. Francis Hospital, where he was declared dead. No one was in custody.
Around 8:50 p.m. in the city’s Gage Park neighborhood, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were walking outside in the 5600 block of South Maplewood Avenue. Two male individuals shot at the boy and the girl, striking the boy in the body and grazing the girl in the head and leg.
The boy was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she was listed in good condition. No one was in custody.
In the city’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood around 2:05 a.m., officers responded to a “person shot” call in the 1800 block of West 83rd Street. They found a 63-year-old man who had multiple gunshot wounds in his chest. He was declared dead at the scene.
Officers also found a 58-year-old woman with two gunshot wounds in the leg. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was listed in fair condition.
Authorities learned the male victim was in an argument with a male individual. Both individuals drew guns and shot them. The individual who survived was taken into custody and two guns were recovered at the scene. Charges were pending.
