3 men seriously wounded in overnight shooting in East Garfield Park neighborhood

Three men were seriously wounded in an overnight exchange of gunfire in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 12:45 a.m., a group was standing on the street in the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue when an exchange of gunfire broke out, wounding three victims, police said.

A 33-year-old man was shot in the lower back and was taken in critical condition tom Stroger Hospital. A 32-year-old man suffered a wound to the lower calf and was dropped off at Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in fair condition. A third man suffered a wound to the back, and was taken to the same hospital and listed in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody for the attack, and detectives were investigating.
