3 young teens wounded overnight in drive-by shooting in Chatham

Three young teens were wounded overnight in a drive-by shooting on the South Side in the Chatham neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 7900 block of South Maryland Avenue and found multiple gunshot victims, police said.

A 16-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound to the right foot, a 14-year-old boy suffered a wound to the left ankle, another boy, 13, suffered  a wound to the left foot, police said.

The victims were all taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where they were listed in good condition. The victims told police they were approached by a red SUV with two people inside that displayed a firearm and opened fire.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
