32-year-old man fatally wounded overnight in West Ridge neighborhood

A 32-year-old man was fatally wounded overnight after he was involved in an argument that turned into a fight and gunfire was exchanged, Chicago police said.

About 2:45 a.m. Saturday, the victim was inside an apartment in the 6400 block of North Richmond Street when he was arguing with two people. The argument turned into a fight, and gun shots were exchanged, police said.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene where a weapon was recovered.

The gunmen fled the scene and no one was in custody. Detectives were investigating.
