A 43-year-old woman who was shot dead Thursday afternoon on the South Side in the Jackson Park Highlands neighborhood has been identified.
The woman was inside her residence in the 6800 block of South Cornell Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday when she was approached by a teenage boy who pulled out a firearm and fired shots at the victim, Chicago police said.
The teenage boy fled the scene.
The victim suffered four gunshots to the head and was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was later pronounced dead. She was identified as Tatanisha Jackson of the same block where she was slain, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
