A 48-year-old man was in critical condition after being found shot in an alley overnight in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 3 a.m., the man was discovered shot to the abdomen in an alley in the 4800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue. He was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting were being investigated but no one was in custody.
