59-year-old woman fatally wounded, another in critical condition after shooting in West Humboldt Park

A 59-year-old woman was fatally wounded, and another woman was left in critical condition Thursday night after a shooting in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before midnight, officers responded ro a call of shots fired in the 900 block of North LeClaire Avenue and found a woman, 59, fatally wounded. A 29-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the right torso and was taken in fair condition to Stroger Hospital. Another woman believed to be in her 40s, was shot in the hip and head, and was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was listed in critical condition, police said.

A preliminary investigating revealed the gunman fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan. No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
