A 20-year-old man was critically injured and six others were wounded in a mass shooting in Englewood Monday morning, police said.
According to police, the shooting occurred right before 2 a.m. in the 6000 block of South Winchester. The 20-year-old was shot in the neck and transferred to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
Four women, ages 24, 31, 33, and 34 were shot and transferred to area hospitals in good condition. Two men, ages 31 and 32 were shot and also transferred to area hospitals in good condition.
Though no one is in custody, officers believe two people who were close to the group exchanged gunfire and fled. Area One Detectives are investigating.
About an hour before the shooting in Englewood, five people — including a 15-year-old girl — were shot on the West Side.
