7-year-old boy critically wound along with man in residence during drive-by shooting Monday night on Far South Side

A 7-year-old boy and a man were critically wounded Monday night in a drive-by shooting while they were inside a residence in the West Pullman neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the boy was inside a residence in the 11600 block of South Yale Avenue when someone inside a white Audi sedan fired shots from the street striking the boy to the back and a graze wound to the head, police said.

The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. A 27-year-old man also was in critical condition and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with wounds to the chest and right arm, police said.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
