After a two-year pandemic hiatus, the annual Des Plaines River Canoe and Kayak Marathon returned Sunday for its 65th edition. Dozens of paddlers launched into the river early Sunday morning in Libertyville for the 18.5-mile trek to the finish line in Mount Prospect.
