In February, when more than 200,000 students who had been victims of for-profit colleges that defrauded them began getting the news that their federal student loans were canceled, Amanda Luciano of Naperville felt a sense of satisfaction — and despair. Because she borrowed from a private lender, she’s stuck with $81,000 in debt.
