Teenage boy wounded Saturday morning on South Side, cops say

A 16-year-old boy was wounded Saturday morning in a shooting on the South Side in the Brainerd neighborhood, Chicago polkice said.

About 7:15 a.m., officers responded to ShotSpotter technology in the 9100 block of South Loomis Street and discovered a teenage boy with multiple gunshot wounds to the body, polkice said.

The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in serious condition.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown, and detectives were investigating.
