Tickets on sale for Wine on the Fox festival in Oswego

Tickets are sale for the 18th annual Wine on the Fox festival set for May 4 and 5 in Hudson Crossing Park overlooking the Fox River in downtown Oswego.

“We’re excited to pop the cork on spring with our popular wine festival,” Oswego Village President Ryan Kauffman said in a news release. “You can’t beat hanging out with family and friends along Oswego’s beautiful Fox River while you sip wine and listen to music.”

Wine aficionados will be able to taste more than 100 selections from Illinois wineries, along with craft beer and non-alcoholic options, at the event at Hudson Crossing Park, 65 N. Harrison St. Local food vendors will offer sweet and savory options to pair with the event’s beverages, according to the release.

The event will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 4 and from noon to 6 p.m. May 5.

Wine on the Fox will include live music by the GOOROOS, 28 Days, Karla and the Phat Cats and The PriSSillas, organizers said. The event will also include children’s activities such as face-painting as well as access to a large playground.

Proceeds from Wine on  the Fox help the village offset the cost of Oswego’s annual events program and provide community amenities throughout the year, according to the release.

Fourth of July fireworks, concerts and movies at Venue 1012 outdoor amphitheater and other programs are made possible by proceeds from Wine on the Fox sponsors, participating businesses and attendees.

Admission to Wine on the Fox is free, however those wishing to consume alcohol at the event must be 21 years old or older, show a valid photo ID and purchase a ticket package, according to the release.

Ticket packages begin at $20 when purchased online before the event and include a commemorative wine glass.

One ticket may be exchanged for a one-ounce serving allowing Wine on the Fox guests to taste and discover new favorites, organizers said. Tickets may also be used for a five-ounce glass of wine. Additional wine tickets are available for $1 each at the event, organizers said.

A variety of ticket packages are also available for the event. One package is new to the festival this year  – the Private Tent Package for Six, which for $550 includes a private, reserved tent with tables for up to six guests, 60 wine tickets, six stemless wine glasses and a charcuterie board. The private tent package is available only on May 4.

Tickets are on sale at www.wineonthefox.com. Advance ticket sales end at 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 3. Packages will be available online and at the door on May 4 and 5 for a higher cost, organizers said.
