Barrington man charged with attempted murder in alleged domestic violence incident

A Barrington man is facing attempted murder and other charges after a stabbing incident where three people were injured, according to Barrington police.

Hiep Luu, of Barrington, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery after police responded Monday evening to what has been called a domestic incident in the 200 block of Walton Avenue in the northwest suburb.

Police responded around 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports that a person had been attacked by a family member wielding a knife. Officers arrived and found three people who had been injured. Police said none of the injuries were life-threatening. The three were transported to area hospitals, according to authorities.

Luu was taken into custody and subsequently charged.

Luu was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday in Cook County.
