Irish music performance

Irish music ensemble Danú performs at 7:30 p.m. March 8 at the McAninch Arts Center on the campus of College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. Tickets are $50-$60. At 425 Fawell Blvd. 630-942-4000; atthemac.org.

With performers hailing from four counties in Ireland, Danú’s high-energy show features a mix of ancient Irish music and new repertoire. Dancers from the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance will perform in the lobby at 6:30 p.m.

Come to the cabaret

Settle in at the Kit Kat Klub in 1929 Berlin and watch the winner of eight Tony awards unfold. The musical revolves around American writer Clifford Bradshaw’s relationship with English cabaret performer Sally Bowles. A subplot involves the doomed romance between German boarding house owner Fräulein Schneider and her elderly suitor Herr Schultz, a Jewish fruit vendor.

Bang a drum

Drum Tao’s modern, high-energy performance showcases the ancient art of Japanese drumming as well as Japanese flutes and harps. Highly physical, large-scale drumming is combined with costumes, choreography and visuals.

Psychic sensation
