A man attacked and stabbed at least four people Wednesday afternoon in Rockford, according to Rockford police. Authorities had the man in custody.
The man stabbed multiple people near the area of Cleveland Avenue, Holmes Street and Eggleston Road, Rockford police said in a social media update posted just after 3 p.m.
A representative of OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford said the hospital was treating four patients.
Police did not provide a specific number of people injured but said they would brief reporters later in the afternoon.
