A Hersey High School player took the ball strong to the basket. A Glenbrook South opponent met him just as strongly, whacking his opponent across the face and knocking his protective mask below his nose and mouth. Masks slipped or were worn incorrectly numerous times as the boys’ basketball season resumed last week, calling into question the effectiveness of state health guidelines for resumption of sports and safety of players.
