A man was shot several times and killed in South Chicago late Sunday night, police said Monday morning.
Police said they responded to reports of shots fired and found a 33-year-old male shot on the 8800 block of South Burley at approximately 10:55 p.m. Authorities said he sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The man’s identity has not yet been released by the the Cook County medical examiner’s office, but police said a dark-colored vehicle was seen driving away from the scene.
No one is yet in custody, authorities said.
