Man pulled from Calumet River identified as missing man from South Chicago

A male body pulled from the Calumet River last Wednesday was identified as a 24-year-old man who was reported missing in April, officials said.

According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, the man was identified as Jovon Tyree Brown-Nelson of the 3200 block of East 92nd Street.

Nelson was last seen April 9 in the block where he lived, blocks away from where he found in the Calumet River.

Shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, a male body was pulled from the river in the 9100 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Chicago police said.
