The Northbrook Symphony Orchestra’s season finale concert will be Fiesta Mexicana at 4 p.m. on June 9 at the Sheely Center for the Performing Arts, Glenbrook North High School.
According to a news release, the event features the renowned Chicago-based Sones de México Ensemble. It showcases a diverse repertoire of Mexican folk tunes and classical selections, including Márquez’s Danzón No. 2, melding the worlds of classical music, and traditional Mexican music.
In addition to the concert, the event offers various activities for attendees to enjoy, including kids’ arts activities, a photo booth, and a taco truck serving delicious Mexican cuisine, the release said. Doors will open at 3 p.m., providing time for guests to explore and immerse themselves in the festivities.
As part of NSO’s mission to make classical music accessible to all, admission for students is free, the release said. Groups of 10-20 will receive a 25% discount on tickets, and groups of 20 or more will receive a 30% discount.
