National Weather Service officials were expecting highs Tuesday in the 90s with an elevated tornado risk and 75 mph wind in portions of north central and northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.
Officials said the area was under a thunderstorm and elevated tornado risk Tuesday, with storms expected to move in between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m.
Damaging wind up to 75 mph was expected with the line of storms which are capable of producing numerous tornadoes, officials warned. Hail up to an inch in diameter was also expected, officials said.
Current conditions at O’Hare International Airport is mostly cloudy at 65 degrees. Farther south at Midway Airport conditions are the same with a temperature of 63 degrees.
