Dyer man wanted for child molesting

A Dyer man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly molesting a preteen girl.

William T. Neely, 35, was charged Thursday with Level 1 felonies for child molesting and attempted child molesting; a Level 3 felony for child molesting; and a Level 4 felony for child molesting.

He has not been apprehended. Neely is ordered held without bond.

Court records allege the abuse happened from August 2019 to September 2022.

The victim’s mother called Chicago Police after the victim started “crying uncontrollably” at the thought of going back to Neely’s house. She said he repeatedly sexually assaulted her, court records show.

The child told investigators that multiple times, he took her clothes off and had her perform a sex act. He told her not to tell anyone.

In another incident, he climbed into her bed, tried to have her perform a sex act, and then left the room when he got a phone call, an affidavit alleges.
