Officers responded to a theft overnight and found a pried open ATM machine lying outside in the South Loop neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 1:40 a.m., officers found the ATM pried open in the 500 block of West Roosevelt Road. A witness told police they saw a male leaving the scene with a shopping cart.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
