A juvenile sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot injury Monday afternoon after a road rage incident on Interstate 80/94 just east of the Illinois state line, according to a release from Indiana State Police’s Lowell post.
Troopers were dispatched around 3:25 p.m. June 3 to the 7000 block of Madison Street in Hammond to investigate a report of a shooting that had occurred on I-80/94 near Calumet Avenue.
The juvenile was injured as a result of a road rage incident that took place in the construction zone just east of the Indiana/Illinois state line, police said.
The Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and is working on the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Detective Chris Eagles at 219-696-6242.
