Convicted serial child predator charged with molesting Lake Station boy

A convicted serial child predator was charged Tuesday with molesting a Lake Station preteen boy.

Brian Christopher Evans, 60, faces up to 76 years in prison.

He was charged with one count of Level 1 child molesting, two counts of Level 4 child molesting and two counts of Level 5 felony child solicitation.

Court records show he was convicted for child molesting in 1981, 1989 and 1995.

The victim’s stepfather told police Evans had been living with them once or twice a month and he thought the past allegations had been fabricated. He was supposed to sleep on the sofa. The stepfather noticed “multiple times” Evans went to the boy’s bedroom at night.

Lake Station Police estimated the abuse happened from Jan. 1 to May 17.

In a forensic interview, the victim said Evans touched him under his clothes, performed a sex acts on the child and had the boy touch Evans’ genitals.

In a police interview, Evans admitted molesting him around 10 times.
